ABOUT ARTIST

Salome Nanayakkara, is a mixed media artist, based in Sri Lanka, whose work focuses mostly on using reclaimed, discarded and found objects. She has an English degree and masters degree in counseling and psychosocial work, from the university of Colombo and works also as a psychotherapist. Her assemblage art and sculptures are informed by her therapy practice and explore ideas of identity, emotion, healing and repair work and she mostly uses animal imagery to explore these ideas.
