ABOUT ARTIST

Sakunthala is an Architect who studied both in England and Sri Lanka.

Her artistic journey began in January 2025, inspired by her brother who always believed she was a creative person and encouraged her to find a way of using this ability.

After losing her brother to depression, she realized she had a lot of pent-up emotion and energy. In January 2025, she turned to painting as a way of expressing herself. Over time, she felt she could do more than simply paint and exhibit; she decided to combine her art with her brother’s passion for charity, specifically in education and mental health awareness, directing any proceeds from her work toward meaningful causes.

Her work is deeply inspired by her brother, who was and always will be her best friend, a significant part of her life, and her greatest inspiration. Each piece represents a memory, a moment, or a conversation she shared with him. For Sakunthala, art is more than creation—it is her way of keeping his presence and purpose alive.
