ABOUT ARTIST

Praveeni is an independent illustrator and designer from sunny Sri Lanka.

Muses of Ceylon is a collection of original artworks she has been thoughtfully developing since 2019. Rooted in expressions of femininity and soft empowerment, the collection is deeply influenced by her love for design and fashion, interwoven with modern interpretations of Sri Lankan identity.

While the themes across the artworks vary, the unifying element is the muse — a woman of Sri Lankan origin. Each muse is built around a carefully curated concept, often using fashion styling as a visual language to reference cultural touchpoints and narratives.

Beginning with the first muse, Manike in Shades, illustrated in 2019, the collection continues to evolve as Praveeni explores new artistic curiosities. All artworks are digitally hand-painted, transformed into high-definition physical prints with care.
