ABOUT ARTIST

Maya Karunaratne (b. 1987) began her journey in art early, though it remained dormant—quietly folded beneath her career in public policy and social advocacy. A self-taught artist, her practice resurfaced as a deeply personal response to change and transformation. Working primarily with recycled materials and natural motifs such as bodhi leaves, Maya views art as a form of therapy, offering space for reflection and discovery.
