ABOUT ARTIST

Hasitha Kelum (b.1998) is an artist living near the capital of Sri Lanka and received his first degree in 2024 from the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo 07.

His artworks take on a complex and imaginative form spanning various media such as painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and installation. His creative inquiry begins with a non-physical world (mental world) that exists within the individual human mind. That is, he brings the psyche born from life experiences, memories, and unconsciousemotions to his canvas and examines memory and psychology by canceling the boundaries between reality and inner feelings.

His art, which is nourished by artistic trends such as impressionism and expressionism, takes a modernist approach. He presents the artist's own mood through his paintings. His art is not an art that is observed superficially and is an artistic revelation of the mood that is never visible to the naked eye.
