ABOUT ARTIST

Erandi Chandima is an artist from Ambalantota, Sri Lanka. She completed both her BFA and MFA degrees in Painting at Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, India. She currently works as a visual artist and also teaches art at a government school. Erandi has participated in many group exhibitions at both national and international levels. She has also taken part in numerous international workshop programs.

Artist Statement

“The subject or theme I have chosen for my painting is “My Imaginations.” I have embodied my imagination through the figure of a woman, because through my paintings, I aim to compare a woman with various elements of the world and express her valuable role and progress. I wish to depict the challenges and issues women face in their daily lives.
