ABOUT ARTIST

Disharath Seneviratne (b. 1999), known artistically as Jeebi, is an artist, animator, and landscape architecture graduate from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Originally from Kandy and a proud alumnus of Trinity College.

Rooted in the symbolic language of Kandyan culture, Jeebi’s mixed-media paintings fuse ancestral visual languages with contemporary influences from comic book aesthetics, science fiction, and alternative graphic storytelling. His work explores the fractures of identity, architectures of belief, and ghostlines of memory, where each piece becomes a conceptual portal inviting reflection on what we inherit and what we imagine next.

Jeebi was selected to exhibit in Young Contemporaries 2025, organized by the George Keyt Foundation and also the recipient of the Deshamanya Ken Balendra Memorial Award for Best Emerging Artist at Kala Pola 2026, presented by the John Keells Foundation and the George Keyt Foundation.
