ABOUT ARTIST

Chaminda is a Contemporary Artist, Curator and Art Researcher Based in Colombo. He is the recipient of numerous awards including the State Award for the Outstanding Painter of the Year, Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Sri Lanka in 1996.

His work has been featured at several local and international exhibitions including Austria, Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, South Korea, Pakistan, Nepal, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, and Thailand.

He is one of the curators of Colombo art biennale in 2011. Chaminda completed Doctor of Philosophy (PhD in Visual Art) from the University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo in 2025. Currently he is serving as a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Visual art, University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo. Sri Lanka.
