Echoes and Origins brings together the works of three artists who reflect on where things begin, and what remains.
Each artist draws from a different source : language, ritual and land. Mahinda reinterprets calligraphic traditions, turning script into layered contemporary forms. Samapath reflects on fading mask-making and performance traditions from his community, honoring those who still carry them forward. Asmar looks to the paddy field as a space shaped labour, memory, and cycles of renewal.
Though their practices differ, all three are connected by a shared concern: how does the past live in the present?
This exhibition considers what remains of origins- not as fixed history, but as echoes that shift , adapt and take a new form.
