ABOUT ARTIST

Prageeth Rathnayake is a rising star in the world of visual art, representing the new generation. He, along with his brother Sujith, follows in their father's artistic footsteps, gaining recognition for their unique creations. Prageeth has showcased his talent through four solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in both Sri Lanka and abroad. In 2007, he earned a first-class Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Visual and Performing Arts. Presently, Prageeth is actively involved in art exhibitions, workshops, and other art-related endeavors on a local and global scale. Additionally, he serves as an Art Director and set designer at Sri Lanka Rupavahini Co- operation.

Prageeth is a contemporary artist known for his distinctive style, characterized by the use of small squares adorned with faces and abstract forms. While he initially favored a pastel palette, he now delves into richer hues like rust red, indigo blue, and moss green.
