Nuwan Nalaka

ABOUT ARTIST

Nuwan Nalaka, a native of Sri Lanka, has held numerous solo exhibitions in Colombo, Galle, and Kandy, showcasing his early watercolor paintings before moving to India in 2003. After completing his Masters in Fine Art at Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, India, he returned to Sri Lanka. His artistic journey across borders significantly influenced his work. Through a series of exhibitions, he delved into techniques he encountered in India, intertwining them with his deep passion for Sri Lankan culture and religion.

Nuwan finds inspiration in everything that surrounds him - from the intricate beauty of nature to the inherent power and grace of women, from the complexities of contemporary society to the mundane yet profound occurrences of everyday life, and from the rituals and practices of religion.
