ABOUT ARTIST

Neleisha Weerasinghe is a Sri Lankan artist known for her expressive and evocative landscapes that capture the lush tropical surroundings of her island. Her signature strokes of liberally applied thick and luscious oil or acrylic paint create a heightened experience of the subjects she brings to life on her canvas. The nuances of her work are often inspired by the abundant natural scenery of her home country. The personal touch that underscores her work is the unique and sometimes unconventional colour combinations and intuitive compositions that are not intended to be representational but evocative. Her work is often described as being “ aesthetically beautiful & expressive”. Neleisha has a Marketing / Online Education background and before becoming a full time artist, worked in Telecommunication and Online Education.
