ABOUT ARTIST

Lester Perera, renowned as Sri Lanka's foremost bird artist, has exhibited his work both locally and internationally. His artwork, often published in magazines and journals, is deeply influenced by his extensive field work as a birder, ornithologist, and naturalist in Sri Lanka and India.

For over 25 years, Lester has led wildlife tours across India and traveled to wildlife destinations in Thailand, Singapore, the Maldives, Taiwan, Kenya's Maasai Mara, and Uganda. A self- taught artist, he paints birds in their natural habitats using acrylics, watercolor, pen and ink. His field sketches, a distinctive practice among naturalists, enhance the authenticity of his paintings.
