Anura Dahanayake

ABOUT ARTIST

In 1991, Anura Dahanayake was employed in an office when his wife, who was his fiancée at the time, came across his small drawings created during his leisure hours. Encouraged by her, he decided to pursue his passion for painting. This marked the beginning of his journey as a self-taught artist in 1993. Anura Dahanayake's artistic endeavors took him to the Ceylon National Art Gallery in Colombo 07, where he hosted an art exhibition. Subsequently, he actively participated in various art exhibitions organized by esteemed institutions such as the Ceylon Society of Arts, the George Keyt Foundation, and Mount Castle Gallery.

In parallel to his exhibition engagements, Anura Dahanayake enrolled at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Art to further hone his artistic skills. Later on, he showcased his talent in a solo exhibition at Alliance Française de Colombo. His preferred mediums of expression include watercolors and oil paints.
